Home Delivered Meals provides nutritious noontime meals delivered to people in their homes on a scheduled basis. Meals may also be delivered to a location other than an individual's home, provided the location is within the provider's service area and is approved by the case worker. The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership has identified an issue affecting Resource Utilization Group score calculations for long-term care nursing facilities.

Texas nursing facilities (NFs) must not transmit Minimum Data Set (MDS) Optional State Assessments (OSAs) to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES).

On October 1, 2023, the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) will implement the following changes to the Minimum Data Set (MDS) comprehensive and quarterly assessments on the Long-Term Care Online Portal (LTCOP).

As part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) migration of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) submission and reporting functionality to their Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES), CMS will turn off the current Assessment Submission and Processing (ASAP) system’s ability to accept any MDS transmissions on April 13, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.
