As part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) migration of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) submission and reporting functionality to their Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES), CMS will turn off the current Assessment Submission and Processing (ASAP) system’s ability to accept any MDS transmissions on April 13, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.
Providers may start transmitting MDS records to the iQIES and access iQIES MDS reports the following Monday, April 17, at 8 a.m. ET. Providers are expected to account for this transition period in their requirements for timely submission of MDS records.
As a reminder, nursing home and swing bed providers required to submit data to CMS must have at least one staff person assigned and approved as the facility iQIES Provider Security Official, who works for the provider and is responsible for approving all other users for their facility. If you have questions or need assistance with iQIES, email the iQIES Service Center at iqies@cms.hhs.gov or call 800-339-9313.
