  • AAA = Area agency on aging
  • ADRC = Aging and disability resource center
  • LIDDA = Local intellectual and developmental disability authority
  • LMHA = Local mental health authority

HHSC offers cash assistance to Texans going through tough times.

HIPP

Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) is the Texas Medicaid program that helps families pay for employer-sponsored health insurance premiums.

If you can answer “yes” to these questions, you should apply for HIPP:

  • Does anyone in your family get Medicaid?
  • Can someone in your family get health insurance at work?

Insurance

Texas sponsors two programs to help families pay for insurance:

  • Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
  • Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) program

Lone Star Card

The Texas Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system uses the Lone Star Card to provide access to:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits.
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash benefits.
