The HHS Centralized Background Check Unit is required to do background checks to see if a person has a criminal history or an abuse and neglect history that might be a risk to the health and safety of children. HHSC has posted the notice “Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Transition: You Must Take Action Now!” (PDF) for program providers, financial management services agencies (FMSAs) and Consumer Directed Services (CDS) employers to review.

Program providers, financial management services agencies (FMSAs) and Consumer Directed Services (CDS) employers transitioning to the new state EVV vendor, HHAeXchange, are responsible for completing all required visit maintenance (including visit maintenance unlock requests) in their current EVV vendor system, DataLogic/Vesta or First Data/AuthentiCare.

To remain compliant with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) requirements, program providers and financial management services agencies (FMSAs) transitioning to HHAeXchange or who have recently enrolled to provide personal care services (PCS), must complete onboarding and system user training before Oct. 1.

Child Care Enforcement (CCE) will only accept a request for an administrative review that meets the requirements prescribed by 26 TAC Chapter 745, §745.8805.
