About Us
The John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center is a joint operation between the Health and Human Services Commission and UTHealth Houston. It is a state-of-the-art psychiatric hospital and learning center.
Patients typically stay several days to a few months. Treatment focuses on stabilizing acute psychiatric illnesses and eventually returning to the community where they can continue to heal through community-based options. Our 253,000 square-foot facility opened in 2022.
