Procurement and Contracting Phase IV Evaluation Report - 2021

The Ernst & Young Phase IV Evaluation Report outlines the continuous improvement initiatives that have been implemented since 2018 in response to a significant increase in the number and complexity of procurements and contracts. The report also highlights a portfolio of 29 projects in which 22 were successfully completed, two are in progress and five that will require additional resources.

2020 Revised Texas Promoting Independence Plan

The Promoting Independence Plan reports on the status of the implementation of a plan to ensure appropriate care settings for persons with disabilities, and the provision of a system of services and supports that foster independence and productivity, including meaningful opportunities for a person with a disability to live in the most appropriate care setting.

Report on Medicaid Managed Care Provider Network Adequacy, 2020

The report provides data on member access to providers in Medicaid managed care networks, and MCO compliance with contractual obligations related to provider access standards.

Ombudsmen in Assisted Living Facilities SFY 2018

The Office of the State Long-term Care Ombudsman (Office) is independent within HHSC. Long-term care ombudsmen regularly visit assisted living facilities (ALFs) and advocate for residents. This report describes ombudsman services in ALFs in state fiscal year 2018, including recommendations to ensure the highest quality of life and care for residents.

Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Report State Fiscal Years 2017-2018

The Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman is independent within the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Long-term care ombudsmen regularly visit nursing and assisted living facilities to advocate for residents. This report describes ombudsman services in nursing and assisted living facilities in state fiscal years 2017-18, including recommendations to ensure the highest quality of life and care for residents.

Aging Texas Well Strategic Plan for the 2020-2021 Biennium

The Aging Texas Well Strategic Plan for the 2020-2021 biennium is submitted in accordance with Executive Order RP-42 (Appendix A). The executive order established key mandates to direct the ATW initiative and state leaders on policy planning for older Texans. The executive order also instructs the Aging Texas Well Advisory Committee to guide and support state leadership on aging-related matters and requires Texas Health and Human Services Commission to develop a biennial working plan to identify and discuss aging policy issues, guide state government readiness, and promote increased community preparedness for the aging Texas population.
