Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Disability Prevention for Children (ODPC) work in preventing developmental disabilities while seeking to minimize the losses developmental disabilities cause, especially in infants and young children. ODPC strives to prevent intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) in infants and children from conception to age 12 through provider and public education, partnerships with other state agencies and stakeholders, and evaluating state efforts to prevent developmental disabilities.

The annual Kidney Health Care (KHC) Program Report provides a description of benefits to eligible clients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and a discussion of expenditures and drug manufacturers rebates in fiscal year 2022.

This report provides important background on complex issues, including previous relevant legislation; the current landscape of group home regulation, including HHSC boarding home standards adopted at the local level; and recommendations for policymakers on how to potentially improve health and safety standards in these and other unregulated settings.

The Medically Dependent Children Program Monitoring Report is a legislatively required report containing information and data related to access to care for Medicaid recipients receiving benefits under the MDCP waiver program for the first quarter of state fiscal quarter 2023.

HHSC partners with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to document a process to review a denial of services for STAR Health members.

The Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 260 governing boarding home facilities Section 260.003, requires the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to develop and publish model standards for the operations of a boarding home facility, and it specifies that these standards must address elements such as construction, fire safety, sanitary conditions, reporting and investigation of injuries and incidents, staff education, and assessment of residents.

This biennial report prepared by the Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force provides recommendations based on reviews and discussions of CKD prevention and self-management, cost-savings studies, and evidence-based research studies.

The following report presents information regarding all tags cited at the Immediate Jeopardy (IJ) level during licensing and certification surveys and complaint or incident investigations performed in nursing facilities during the third quarter of 2022 (07/01/2022 – 09/31/2022).
