A legislative report is annually submitted by the PANS Advisory Council to the Legislature and Governor for recommendations, education, and outreach concerning pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome.
The Non-Physician Mental Health Professionals serves as a mental health and substance use resource for school districts located in the region served by a regional Education Service Center (ESC) and in which the LMHA or LBHA provides services.

Texas Education Code, Subchapter E, Section 8.152 directs Local Mental Health Authorities/Local Behavioral Health Authorities to employ an NPMHP to serve as a mental health and substance use resource for school districts located in the region served by a regional Education Service Center and in which the LMHA/LBHA provides services and requiring HHSC to submit an annual report on the outcomes for school districts and students resulting from the services provided by the non-physician mental health professionals.
