Based on new federal law, continuous Medicaid coverage ended March 31, 2023, so you need to renew your benefits when it’s time to ensure your coverage will continue if you are eligible.

The Texas Simplified Application Project (TSAP) provides Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits to Texas households where all household members are either older adults (age 60 and older) or people with disabilities.

SNAP food benefits are put on to the Lone Star Card and can be used just like a debit card at any store that accepts SNAP.

In partnership with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), Medicaid provides a managed care program, STAR Health.

Adults who were in the Texas foster care program as children might be able to keep their Medicaid coverage through the Medicaid for Transitioning Foster Care Youth program or the Medicaid for Former Foster Care Youth program.
