Adoption Assistance and Permanency Care Assistance helps families with children transitioning from foster care with expenses related to adoption, including health care coverage. Children with AA/PCA receive Medicaid coverage. Services include regular checkups with a doctor, dentist visits, and medicine and vaccines.

Young adults who were in the Texas foster care program as children might be able to keep their Medicaid coverage through the Medicaid for Transitioning Foster Care Youth or Medicaid for Former Foster Care Youth programs.
