The Texas Cares program was created to improve accessibility to prescription drugs for Texans who are unable to access medication through insurance or other health care coverage. The insulin study report shows the program activities including evaluating implementation, researching population needs, and understanding the landscape of available resources for individuals who need insulin in Texas.

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is charged with conducting a comprehensive assessment of nursing facility (NF) workforce challenges and how they affect the delivery of care to residents in those facilities. This report reflects important input HHSC received from the Long-Term Care Facilities Council (Council), state agencies such as the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and the Board of Nursing (BON), and long-term care provider associations, advocates, and other key stakeholders.

The Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 260 governing boarding home facilities Section 260.003, requires the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to develop and publish model standards for the operations of a boarding home facility, and it specifies that these standards must address elements such as construction, fire safety, sanitary conditions, reporting and investigation of injuries and incidents, staff education, and assessment of residents.
