HHSC studied the impact of rate increases for physicians on utilization of emergency room and emergency department (ED) visits, hospital admission volume, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) stay length. HHSC found significant limitations and did not identify a direct or singular causal or correlated impact to support a rate increase as effective in a cost neutral manner or for producing savings within a biennial period.

The Statewide Behavioral Health Coordinating Council has developed a new five-year behavioral health
strategic plan for fiscal years 2022 - 2026. This plan also includes a statewide, strategic approach to prevent and reduce justice involvement for those with behavioral health needs.

Annual evaluation and report on the Prescription Drug Rebate Program for health benefit programs administered by the Health and Human Services System: Texas Medicaid Program, Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Kidney Health Care (KHC) Program, Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program, and the Healthy Texas Women (HTW) Program. The report summarizes the rebate outstanding principal and interest, age of receivables, and annual collection rates for the Prescription Drug Rebate program.
This report is issued to inform the public of the work of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program on behalf of residents of nursing facilities and assisted living facilities. The report includes information and findings relating to the problems and concerns of residents and recommendations to solve the problems, resolve the concerns, and improve the quality of the residents’ care and lives.
