The Office of the State Long-term Care Ombudsman (Office) is independent within HHSC. Long-term care ombudsmen regularly visit assisted living facilities (ALFs) and advocate for residents. This report describes ombudsman services in ALFs in state fiscal year 2018, including recommendations to ensure the highest quality of life and care for residents.

The Aging Texas Well Strategic Plan for the 2020-2021 biennium is submitted in accordance with Executive Order RP-42 (Appendix A). The executive order established key mandates to direct the ATW initiative and state leaders on policy planning for older Texans. The executive order also instructs the Aging Texas Well Advisory Committee to guide and support state leadership on aging-related matters and requires Texas Health and Human Services Commission to develop a biennial working plan to identify and discuss aging policy issues, guide state government readiness, and promote increased community preparedness for the aging Texas population.

HHSC is committed to improving the quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities who reside at the SSLCs. This report highlights ongoing efforts as of August 2019 to achieve targeted improvements in services and supports provided to enhance compliance with the DOJ settlement agreement.
The report includes the prescription drug rebate outstanding principal and interest amounts, age of receivables, annual collection rates, billed amounts, dollar value of pricing and utilization adjustments, and dollars collected. This report includes a separate prescription drug rebate collection report for each managed care and fee-for-service rebate program.
