This report provides preliminary findings from the 2019 utilization review of the Managed Care STAR+PLUS review.

This annual report builds on the previous annual report, submitted in January 2019, which provided outcomes related to transitioning children and young adults enrolled in the Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP) into the STAR Kids capitated managed care program.

The Office of the State Long-term Care Ombudsman (Office) is independent within HHSC. Long-term care ombudsmen regularly visit assisted living facilities (ALFs) and advocate for residents. This report describes ombudsman services in ALFs in state fiscal year 2018, including recommendations to ensure the highest quality of life and care for residents.

The report includes the prescription drug rebate outstanding principal and interest amounts, age of receivables, annual collection rates, billed amounts, dollar value of pricing and utilization adjustments, and dollars collected. This report includes a separate prescription drug rebate collection report for each managed care and fee-for-service rebate program.

This annual report to HHSC Executive Commissioner authored by the STAR Kids Advisory Committee outlines identified issues and recommendations for improvements to the STAR Kids Medicaid managed care program.

This report examines the frequency of pregnancy-related depression among women with a Medicaid-paid delivery, the frequency of pregnancy-related depression screening by Medicaid and Women's Health providers, the utilization of services and onset of treatment for pregnancy-related depression, and Medicaid costs during fiscal year 2016.

The 2018 Transition of Medically Dependent Children Program Waiver Recipients to STAR Kids report is submitted in compliance with Section 2.12 of Senate Bill 7, 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, 2013. S.B. 7 requires the Health and Human Services Commission to evaluate outcomes related to transitioning children and young adults enrolled in the Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP) into the STAR Kids capitated managed care program.
