Summary of Significant Audit Findings for Local Mental Health Authorities for Fiscal Year 2021

Texas Health and Safety Code, Section 534.068(f) requires HHSC to submit a report to the legislature that includes a summary of the significant findings identified during a review of fiscal audit activities.

Report on the Mental Health First Aid Program for FY 2022

MHFA is an evidence-based curriculum used to teach individuals how to help someone who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Health and Safety Code, Section 1001.205(b) requires HHSC to report data on the number of persons trained in MHFA and a detailed accounting of expenditures.

Pilot Program for Providing Medical Transportation to Pregnant Women and New Mothers - Pilot Results

HHSC must implement a pilot allowing a woman during and after pregnancy enrolled in STAR to bring another child with her when using nonemergency medical transportation (NEMT) services. The intent of the bill is to increase access to prenatal and postpartum health care services; reduce pregnancy-related complications; and decrease the rate of missed appointments by this population.
