This report outlines how funding is appropriated to state agencies to meet specific social service needs for certain low income and at-risk populations through the Texas Title XX Social Services Block Grant. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is designated to administer the Title XX Social Services Block Grant for Texas and is the lead grantee agency serving as the coordinator of funds appropriated from the federal government to various state agencies.
This report addresses requirements in Health and Safety Code §614.013 and §614.017. Health and Safety Code §614.013 and §614.017 requires HHSC to submit a report to the Legislative Budget Board no later than September 1 of each fiscal year its efforts to facilitate the exchange of information between agencies. The report must include but is not limited to: the manner in which information is exchanged between agencies, the frequency with which information is exchanged, the type of information most frequently exchanged, and the agencies most frequently involved in the exchange of information.
In August 2020, HHSC and DSHS released the Postpartum Depression Strategic Plan, required by Section 32.046, Texas Health and Safety Code. This update reviews activities completed in fiscal year 2021 and future activities.
The Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome Advisory Council legislative report provides recommendations on practice guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of PANS, clinical awareness and education regarding PANS among physicians, and outreach strategies to increase educators’ and parents’ awareness of PANS.
