The Texas Cares report for fiscal year 2023 is submitted in accordance with Texas Health and Safety Code, Section 65.204, which requires the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to submit an annual report to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and standing committees of the Legislature with primary jurisdiction over the program.

This presentation provides updates on HHSC’s implementation of 87(R) HB 18.

This biennial report was created by the council members of the Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Advisory Council and includes recommendations to the 88th Texas Legislature on various policy issues.

This presentation gives a brief implementation update on House Bill 18, which establishes the Texas Cares program.
