For many people, dining is about more than just satisfying nutritional needs. It is also about the social and cultural aspects of sharing a meal with others.

In Texas WIC, the specific allowable foods are selected for inclusion in the food packages based on federal regulations, statewide availability, packaging and cost. Annually, Texas WIC reviews the Authorized Product List (APL) and selects specific foods that will improve the diet of WIC participants.

Maintaining a healthy nutritional status helps preserve physical functioning and reduce medical complications in older adults living in long-term care facilities.

Home Delivered Meals provides nutritious noontime meals delivered to people in their homes on a scheduled basis. Meals may also be delivered to a location other than an individual's home, provided the location is within the provider's service area and is approved by the case worker.
