Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership published a table that highlights the most frequently occurring issues Electronic Visit Verification users have experienced with the HHAeXchange system.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will implement a claim matching bypass on Feb. 1, 2024 — for EVV claims with dates of service from Jan. 1 through March 31 — to be paid without a matching EVV visit.

The new Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Texas Administrative Code (TAC) has been published on the Secretary of State’s Texas Administrative Code webpage.

EVV Program providers and financial management services agencies must enter and maintain correct information in the EVV system for their service providers or Consumer Directed Services employees.

Effective Aug. 1, 2023, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and managed care organizations will no longer conduct EVV compliance reviews for required free text.

Program providers and financial management services agencies (FMSAs) who are using an Application Programming Interface (API) to integrate their third-party EVV vendor system with the HHAeXchange system must ensure they are properly using both systems when capturing and submitting EVV claims.

This is a reminder that Electronic Visit Verification claims matching for all services required to use EVV will begin on Jan. 1, 2024.

Electronic Visit Verification claims matching for home health care services will begin on Jan. 1, 2024. EVV claims with dates of service of Jan. 1, 2024, and after do not have an EVV visit match will be denied.

HHSC will require Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for Medicaid home health care services (HHCS) beginning Jan. 1, 2024, as listed in the Home Health Care Services required to use EVV (PDF).
