On October 1, 2023, the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) will implement the following changes to the Minimum Data Set (MDS) comprehensive and quarterly assessments on the Long-Term Care Online Portal (LTCOP).

Texas HHSC, along with The University of Texas Steve Hicks School of Social Work, will host the 2023 Quality in Long-Term Care Conference in person at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin on Aug. 22–23.

As part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) migration of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) submission and reporting functionality to their Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (iQIES), CMS will turn off the current Assessment Submission and Processing (ASAP) system’s ability to accept any MDS transmissions on April 13, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.

Effective Nov. 1, nursing facility providers must complete section GG and related fields before they submit an Omnibus Reconciliation Act assessment with an Assessment Reference Date on or after Nov. 1, 2022.
