Home Delivered Meals provides nutritious noontime meals delivered to people in their homes on a scheduled basis. Meals may also be delivered to a location other than an individual's home, provided the location is within the provider's service area and is approved by the case worker. The Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) [PDF] expands, extends and enhances outreach efforts to beneficiaries on Medicare Part D and for those with limited income. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) accepts applications from prospective providers through its open enrollment procurement process to contract for the Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) Medicaid waiver program. Under the open enrollment process, contracts are awarded on a noncompetitive basis to eligible applicants meeting the qualifications and other requirements established by HHS. There is no end date or dollar amount associated with the contracts awarded through this solicitation.

The 28 area agencies on aging (AAA) provide services to help people age 60 and older, their family members and caregivers receive the information and assistance they need in locating and accessing community services.
