Following the repeal of the Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Visitation and Mitigation COVID-19 Emergency Rules, HHSC Long-term Care (LTC) Regulation will retire the COVID-19 Response for ICF for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Related Conditions Response Plan and the ICF Frequently Asked Questions documents, effective Dec. 13, 2022.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) approved 2021 settlements and fiscal year 2023 interim payment rates for large and small state-operated ICFs/IID, also known as State Supported Living Centers (SSLCs) and Bond Homes, respectively.

HHSC added an option to the HHSC email and text update GovDelivery system that subscribers can select to receive updates related to the Individualized Skills and Socialization services program.

The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) created the Regulatory Services Division in 2017 as regulatory functions consolidated from the Department of Family and Protective Services, the Department of Aging and Disability Services and the Department of State Health Services. As part of this consolidation effort, effective Jan. 30, 2023, HHSC will retire the Provider Investigation policy mailbox.

HHSC Complaint and Incident Intake (CII) has added an Infection Control option in the Incident Category field in the Texas Unified Licensure Information Portal for facility reported incidents.

As of Jan. 1, 2023, HHSC will no longer allow Assisted Living Facilities to participate in emergency temporary closures. Facilities must reopen and resume regular business practices.

As of Jan. 1, 2023, HHSC will no longer allow Intermediate Care Facilities to participate in emergency temporary closures found in the ICF FAQ and Response Plan.

On Dec. 1, 2022, HHSC will launch the Day Activity Health Services (DAHS) Individualized Skills and Socialization License Application in the Texas Unified Licensure Information Portal (TULIP).

This is a reminder that provider information on Long-Term Care (LTC) claims for Intermediate Care Facilities for IID (ICF/IID), Nursing Facilities (NF), and hospice is being validated.
