In March 2020, HHSC started a temporary policy change for respite and Community First Choice (CFC) Personal Assistance Services (PAS)/Habilitation (HAB) provided in the Home and Community-based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living (TxHmL) waiver programs. This temporary policy change is effective March 27, 2020, through March 31, 2025. HHSC will provide guidance if anything changes.

Home and Community-based Services, Texas Home Living, Community Living Assistance and Support Services, and Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities waiver programs will be replacing the form and handbook term “individual” with “person” in accordance with HHS branding guidelines.

HHSC is continuing to work with Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership to develop a solution to allow visit maintenance for EVV Proprietary System Operators who lost access to the EVV system where the visit was entered.

HHAeXchange is hosting an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Town Hall Webinar on Thursday, May 30, from 1–3 p.m. Central time for program providers and financial management services agencies who use HHAeXchange as their EVV system.
