To assist program providers with documenting the completion of required training, HHSC has created Form 6520, Record of Completion for the DBMD Program Service Provider Training.

HHSC reminds HCS program providers that HHSC, with the assistance of Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP), is conducting on-site assessments of 3-person residences, 4-person residences, and Host Home/Companion Care (HH/CC) settings to ensure compliance with the federal HCBS Settings Rule.

The Surrogate Decision-making Program (SDMP) is a legislatively mandated process authorizing Surrogate Consent Committees (SCCs) comprised of trained volunteers. In order for the program to continue to successfully fulfill its mandate, additional trained volunteers are needed to serve on SCCs.

HHSC has posted the state’s HCBS Settings Rule final Statewide Transition Plan (STP) for public comment. Notice of the STP was published in the Jan. 13, 2023 edition of the Texas Register. However, due to errors in the publication, a revised notice regarding the STP is expected to be published in the Jan. 27, 2023 edition of the Texas Register.

HHSC will submit a final Statewide Transition Plan (STP) to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The STP is posted for public comment.
