Listing of handbooks and forms for nursing facility providers in Texas

The term "negotiated rulemaking" specifies a particular process to be used to draft a proposed rule. This process provides for a group of 12-15 stakeholders who represent differing interests affected by the proposed rule to negotiate and potentially reach agreement on a proposed rule.

HHSC is mandated to create and provide nursing facilities with one of the posters required by Texas Administrative Code, Title 26, Part 1, Chapter 554, §554.1921(e), the notice of how to file a complaint, giving the toll-free telephone number. This page provides information on how to obtain these posters.

The Minimum Data Set (MDS) is a standardized collection of demographic and clinical information that describes a person's overall condition. All licensed nursing facilities in Texas are required to submit MDS assessments for all residents admitted into their facility. The current version is MDS 3.0.
