On Jan. 1, 2025, HHSC implemented the employment readiness benefit for individuals enrolled in Home and Community-based Services (HCS), Texas Home Living (TxHmL), or Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) waiver programs for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

The April 30 recording of the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Programs and Provider Investigations Quarterly Webinar with Long-term Care Regulation is available.

HHSC has updated the following training forms used in the Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) waiver program to include the employment readiness service provider type.

LTCR has updated the ICF federal, licensure and state standards of participation tag crosswalks to the most current version.

The legislatively mandated Surrogate Decision-making Program authorizes Surrogate Decision Makers and Surrogate Consent Committees to provide written informed consent for certain treatment decisions for adult individuals with intellectual disabilities who have no legal guardian, and have been assessed to lack the capacity to consent for themselves, and reside in community-based intermediate care facilities for individuals with an intellectual disability or related conditions.

HHSC Joint Training is requesting feedback from providers related to a proposed training on the ICF internal investigation process.
