Joint Training

Human Resources Code, Section 22 039(c), requires the Texas Department of Aging and disability Services (DADS) to semi-annually provide training for surveyors and providers of nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and intermediate care facilities for individuals with an intellectual disability or related condition (ICF/IIDs) on subjects that address at least one of the 10 most common violations by long-term care facilities under federal or state law.

During fiscal year 2011, DADS conducted 220 training sessions attended by 4,760 providers and 718 surveyors
