What is a Medicaid Contract Termination?
The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) is required under current rules to place a newspaper notice for proposed terminations of Medicaid contracts between the State of Texas and nursing facilities or intermediate care facilities. The agency is now providing that same public notice on this webpage as well.
As a result, DADS posts Public Notice of such terminations before they are scheduled to occur. Often the proposed termination is rescinded because the facility has reached substantial compliance. In these cases, DADS will post a retraction to the original public notice.
