State law prohibits the use of Healthy Texas Women funds to perform or promote elective abortions, or to contract with entities that perform or promote elective abortions or affiliate with entities that perform or promote elective abortions.
Providers of Healthy Texas Women services must certify their compliance with state law under their National Provider Identification number.
The Healthy Texas Women program offers free women's health and family planning services to eligible, low-income women. These services help women plan their families, whether they want to achieve, postpone or prevent pregnancy. They can also have a positive effect on future pregnancy planning and general health.
