Online Licensing Renewals

The Health Facility Licensing Unit is pleased to provide health care facilities a convenient option for paying license renewal fees over the Internet anytime 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Who May Renew Online?

You may renew a facility license online during the eligibility period beginning 60 days prior to the license expiration date and ending on the license expiration date.

Please note, if you renew online, the total amount paid for the license renewal fee must include an additional $20 Texas.gov subscription fee.

If you do not wish to renew online, you may mail the signed renewal form, other required documentation, and the licensing renewal fee to the address printed on the license renewal form or form instructions. Do not include the $20 Texas.gov subscription fee in the total amount paid.

Steps for Renewing

Please follow these instructions to renew online:

  1. Visit the Regulatory Services Online Licensing System.
  2. Register as a First Time User or login with your User ID and Password.
  3. Online renewal allows you to pay the license fee by electronic check, expediting HHSC's processing of the fee.
  4. Renewal forms must be completed, signed and returned to the Health Facility Licensing Unit with any other required documentation by mail, email or fax before the renewal process is complete.
  5. Once the Health Facility Licensing Unit receives the completed and signed renewal forms and other required documentation, the license will be issued and mailed to the facility.

Who is eligible to renew online?

Any licensee whose license is active and within 60 days prior to expiration. The Health Facility Licensing Unit sends out renewal notices to each licensee approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date of the license.

How does the online renewal process work?

The online renewal process is a simple process. The first step is to register as a First Time User or login with your User ID and Password. A change of mailing address and/or contact information address can be completed in conjunction with the renewal. The next steps are to review information and proceed to the payment page. After providing payment information, the final step is to view and print the transaction receipt. Renewal forms must also be completed, signed and returned to the Health Facility Licensing Unit with any other required documentation by mail, email or fax before the renewal process is complete.

How long will my renewal period be?

All licenses are renewed for two years.

Can I change my name as part of the online renewal?

No, name changes must be done in writing to HHSC.

Can I change my address at the time of renewal?

Yes, you can change your mailing address and/or contact information address at the time of renewal. The mailing address and/or contact information address is where your license will be mailed. Physical address changes must be approved by HHSC.

What are the online available payment options?

Payments can be made by ACH electronic check payment method.

What information do I need to make a payment online?

A valid bank routing number and savings/checking account number is required.

Can I print the payment receipt after completing the online process?

Yes.

Are there any penalties associated with late payments?

You are not eligible to renew online if the license expiration date has passed.

Can I use my printed payment receipt as a temporary license?

No. The license will not be renewed until all documentation is received, reviewed and approved by HHSC. The printed payment receipt only confirms payment of your renewal.

Can I renew online any time?

Yes, the system is available 7 days per week, 24 hours per day except for routine maintenance down time.
