CMS Updates State Operations Manual Chapter 10 — Hospice Included for Informal Dispute Resolution Processes

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued QSO-24-11-HHA & Hospice (PDF).

This memo informs home health and hospice agencies about the following:

• State Operations Manual Chapter 10 has been updated to include hospice agencies in the Informal Dispute Resolution (IDR) process. Hospices will now follow the same existing process for home health agencies.
• New sections have been added that provide guidance to both home health and hospice agencies.
• The home health survey process was removed from Chapter 10 and moved to Appendix B.
