Executive Commissioner Young Receives Bob Bullock Award for Outstanding Public Stewardship

HHSC Executive Commissioner Cecile Erwin Young received the Bob Bullock Award for Outstanding Public Stewardship from Government Technology after its Texas Digital Government Summit June 29 in Austin.

The Bob Bullock Award is given each year to a Texas executive or elected official who has shown outstanding leadership and support in promoting innovation and efficiency to improve the well-being of all Texans.

The award is named after Bob Bullock, former lieutenant governor and comptroller of Texas, who championed technology and innovation in state government.

“It’s humbling to see my name alongside such a prestigious list of previous honorees and to receive an award named after the legendary Bob Bullock,” Young said. “At HHSC we share the same goal of working smarter to ensure Texans have access to the care and services they need. One of our core values is innovation, and that means embracing technology to achieve our goals more effectively and efficiently.”

Previous Bullock Award recipients include legislators, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar and former agency commissioners.
