AUSTIN – The Waco Center for Youth is hosting a job fair on Friday, August 13, to hire qualified candidates for more than 100 open positions.
The center is offering signing bonuses of up to $5,000 for qualified registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses and psychiatric nursing assistants.
“Working with adolescents requires compassion and every day is rewarding in its own way,” said Waco Center for Youth Director Chuck Russell. “When you dedicate your career to changing the lives of young people, they will often surprise you and have a positive impact on your own life.”
The center provides psychiatric residential treatment to teenagers with severe emotional or behavioral disorders.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, face masks and social distancing will be required at the job fair and staff will adhere to CDC safety guidelines.

Where: Heart of Texas Goodwill Resource Center, 1700 S. New Rd., Waco
Job seekers will need to bring I-9 acceptable documents to be eligible for an on-the-spot job offer. If they receive an offer, they must pass a background check before they start work.
Texas Health and Human Services, which operates 10 state hospitals including Waco Center for Youth, offers health and dental insurance, career advancement opportunities, paid training, and paid vacation and sick leave.
