The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) publishes annual reports and other publications to fulfill legislative mandates and to provide information on topics related to quality in long-term services and supports programs.
Manuals and Brochures
The Quality Monitoring Program Provider Manual includes information about QMP, the nursing facility quality review process and the early warning system.
The Long Term Care Early Warning System is a report on the risk assessment tool used to identify nursing facilities most likely to need the technical assistance that is available through the quality outreach included in Senate Bill 1839, (77th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, 2001).
The Nursing Facility Quality Review (NFQR) is a statewide process used by HHSC to benchmark and trend the progress of quality of care and the quality of life for nursing home residents. The data collected by the NFQR helps HHSC track progress in quality improvement activities and formulate strategies to improve both the quality of long-term services and supports and clinical outcomes of individuals.
