Deputy Executive Commissioner, Compliance and Quality Control, Rob Ries

 

Rob Ries is the Health and Human Services Commission’s deputy executive commissioner of Compliance and Quality Control. He is responsible for overseeing the organization’s contracting functions with a focus on integrity and positive impact.

Previously, Ries was senior adviser to HHSC’s chief policy and regulatory officer, where he contributed to systemwide projects related to process improvement, performance management, policy development and regulatory services. Prior to his time at HHSC, he spent four years leading budget and finance teams in Texas state government. His experience also includes budget and policy development in the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas Senate and one year on a campaign for the U.S. Senate.

Ries has a Master of Business Administration from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
