The Statewide Health Coordinating Council will convene as posted to hear, consider, discuss, and take formal action, as applicable and necessary, on the following agenda items, as time allows:

  1. Call to order.
  2. Presiding member’s welcome and introductions.
  3. Establish a quorum – roll call and possible action to approve excused absences.
  4. Statewide Health Coordinating Council (SHCC) discussion and possible action to approve February 29, 2024, Meeting Minutes.
  5. SHCC agency representatives’ reports.
    1. Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
    2. Texas Health and Human Services Commission – Medicaid Program.
    3. Texas Department of State Health Services.
    4. Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
  6. Update on SHCC representation on the Texas Health and Human Services Commission E-Health Advisory Committee.
  7. Health Professions Resource Center and SHCC coordinator’s report
  8. Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies report.
  9. Report on the State Health Plan Update – review of recommendations and possible action to approve State Health Plan Update draft.
  10. Administrative items and next steps:
    1. Tentative SHCC meeting dates: September 26, 2024.
  11. Public comment.
  12. Adjourn.

Public Comment: Members of the public who would like to provide oral or written public comment are encouraged to do so by completing a Public Comment Form, marking the appropriate box for oral or written comment.

Submit your Public Comment Form to DSHS by emailing the Statewide Health Coordinating Council at SHCC@dshs.texas.gov. Registration for public comment should be completed no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 4, 2024.

  • The request must contain your name and either the organization you are representing or that you are speaking as a private citizen and your direct phone number.
  • Written comments are limited to three minutes and may or may not be read during the meeting for consideration by the advisory committee.
  • Oral public comments are limited to three minutes. Speakers must state their name, and, on whose behalf, they are speaking.
  • Public members who are using handouts are asked to provide an electronic copy in an accessible .pdf format that will be distributed by DSHS staff to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council members, State staff, and public distribution. Handouts are limited to two pages (paper size: 8.5” by 11”, one side only) of documentation. Handouts must be emailed to DSHS immediately after registering and include the name of the person who will be commenting.
  • Instructions for providing oral comments will be emailed to you.

This meeting is open to the public. No reservations are required and there is no cost to attend this meeting.

This meeting will also be conducted via videoconference call in accordance with the requirements of Section 551.127, Texas Government Code. The member of the Council presiding over the meeting will be physically present at the location specified above.
