Advisory Committee Reports

The Aging Texas Well Strategic Plan for 2024-2025 identifies the issues that older adults, informal caregivers, and aging services providers identified as top priorities impacting older adults; the strategies HHSC, other state agencies, service providers and other community partners developed to address these priorities; and progress towards implementing these strategies.

The report includes recommendations addressing opportunities for early childhood development and childcare, educational support for children with disabilities, opportunities for post-secondary education and support, In-home support for children, parents, and families, access to health care and health care coordination, and access to community support for children involved in the juvenile justice system.

The report fulfills the requirement of Texas Government Code 531, Subchapter M-2, sections §531.491-499, which requires the Statewide Interagency Aging Services Council to develop a recurring five-year interagency aging services strategic plan to ensure a strategic statewide approach to interagency aging services.

This report outlines the SMMCAC’s 2024 recommendations to HHSC, describes how the SMMCAC accomplishes its tasks, and presents anticipated activities for the upcoming year.

Current trends and identifies best practices in health care for value-based payment and quality improvement and provides recommendations consistent with the purposes of the VBPQIAC.

Every two years, the PCIAC must submit a report to the Legislature and the HHSC Executive Commissioner assessing: the availability of palliative care in Texas, barriers to greater access to palliative care, and policies, practices, and protocols in Texas concerning patients' rights related to palliative care.

This report was drafted by the members of the eHealth Advisory Committee describing their meetings, activities, and recommendations.

A legislative report is annually submitted by the PANS Advisory Council to the Legislature and Governor for recommendations on education, diagnosis and outreach concerning pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome.

Texas Government Code, Section 531.012 requires the Behavioral Health Advisory Committee to make recommendations to the Health and Human Services Commission Executive Commissioner concerning the allocation and adequacy of behavioral health services and programs in Texas.

The STAR Kids Managed Care Advisory Committee (SKMCAC) report includes a summary of the recommendations developed by the SKMCAC’s three subcommittees that are tasked with identifying ways to improve the STAR Kids program for children and families.
